The Adventures of Dr. Em

My lifelong friend, Emily, graduated from Chiropractic school and I surprised her with a personalized watercolor of all of her favorite things. I decided to merge this painting with my love of book covers… and TADA! The Adventures of Dr. Em: The Case of the Curved Spine was born!

As I was designing this cover and knowing how hard the real Emily works at her job, I knew Dr. Em needed more than one story. I imagine this book series to be for a younger audience and a fun way to teach them of the holistic practice of chiropractic care. Honestly, it is shocking that I am learning so much about this profession and more about my body in general… in my mid-20s… all because of her (thx em).

The painting has a lot of curves and action going on so I chose to hand draw the title and subtitle to be as free flowing as the rest of it. The letters are in all caps to further exclaim that an exciting adventure awaits!
